Healthy brownies

This is a recipe I’ve been working on. I love eating sweets in a daily basis, but in the healthy way (otherwise it’s unthinkable...) I’ve been researching on changing non-healthy- ingredients, into a healthier ones. As you can see on my blog, I have a few healthy recipes, and I will continue working on reducing fat, sugar and using the best quality flour (mostly whole wheat and eco) to get the most amazing sweets to indulge our life, but been concerned about our health.

This recipe is “a piece of cake”( I’m quite proud I could find the right proportions and ingredient changes to get this lovely recipe) and the brownie you get will be moist, with a lovely chocolate flavor. I don’t want to lie. It’s not a full fat brownie, but (Bible) the flavor is amazing, you can eat them thinking that you’re not a “healthy-freak” (I’m not...) but I promise you, you’ll love them!

To make this amazing brownies you should need:

Ingredients:

85 grams greek yogurt
50 grams eco flour
65 grams eco whole wheat flour
30 grams cocoa powder (sugar free)
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
pic of salt
1/4 tsp baking soda (I made them before without and they came out nice as well)
60 grams brown sugar (if you don’t use sweetener use 200 grams)
200 ml liquid sweetener
240 grams apple purèe
1 apple (peeled, cored and grated)
1 M egg (eco)

Method:

  • Preheat ove to 180ºC
  • Grease a 20x20 square cm baking pan
  • In a bowl mic the dry ingredients: Whole wheat flour, all purpose flour(sifted), baking powder and baking soda, cocoa powder and salt.
  • In a bowl mix: greek yogurt, apple sauce, egg and sugar and sweetener.
  • Stir in the dry ingredients into the wet ones. Mix well.
  • Add the grated apple.
  • Into the prepared baking tin.
  • If you want you can sprinkle some choco chips, or just shaved dark chocolate (I did once and it’s yum!)
  • Bake for 30 minutes (or until the skewer comes out clean. Well, it has to come out “wet” you don’t want your brownies to be dry)
  • Let the brownies cool down in a wire rack.
  • Once cooled, cut them.
  • They can be freeze for 3 months.
I hope you’ll like the recipe!!
