Mars bars mousse

Yes. Mars bars and mousse in one recipe... To die for... You'll love this one. The most decadent, delicious mousse you could ever imagine... And although this mousse is make with those famous chocolate bars, it's not "heavy" (...)
Give it a try if you love gooey desserts...(look below...)

Lets go with the recipe!

You will need:

6 Mars (the individual and regular ones)
100 ml. Light cream or full fat milk
4 Tbsp. cocoa powder
4  L egg whites
Pinch of salt

Method:

  • In a saucepan, mix cream, chocolate bars (broken) and cocoa powder.
  • Cook over a "gentle" heat until the Mars bars are melted. Allow it to cool.
  • Stir/whisk from time to time to be sure every piece of bar is melted.
  • Meanwhile whisk egg whites with a pinch of salt (I sometimes use a pinch of creme of tartar)until soft peaks.
  • With a spatula, fold into the chocolate mixture the egg whites in three times (the first whites are to make the mixture light) Mix well until the whites are perfectly "merged"in the chocolate mixture.
  • Divide the mousse in your ramekins, glasses, to use as I usually do; as a part of a Trifle.... (these amount of mousse is enough for 6-7 servings)
  • Let it set/ thicken  in the refrigerator at least for 4 hours (I usually prefer to make them ahead and let them set overnight)
  • You can use this mousse for lots of desserts (with fruits, Trifles, with custard, vanilla ice cream, cookies...)

Enjoy it!!
